Frequently Asked Questions
Everything You Need to Know
Before you book your journey into Hamburg’s history.
How can I book a tour?
All bookings are made securely through Ticket Tailor via our Tours page. After payment, you'll receive a confirmation email with your meeting details.
Where do tours start?
Each tour begins at a different location in central Hamburg. Please refer to your Day-Of Tour Instructions page for exact meeting details.
How long do tours last?
Most tours last approximately 2 hours. Hamburg History Heroes is about 90 minutes. Timing may vary slightly depending on group size and questions.
What languages are the tours offered in?
All tours are currently led in English. Some guides may assist with basic German while we expand our language offerings.
What should I wear?
Wear comfortable shoes and dress for the weather. Hamburg’s cobblestones can be tricky, and this is a walking tour.
What happens if it rains?
Tours run rain or shine. If conditions become unsafe, we will contact you to reschedule or refund.
Is the tour accessible?
We aim to make routes as accessible as possible. Some areas include cobblestones or uneven ground. Please contact us in advance so we can adapt the route if needed.
Are there bathroom breaks?
We recommend using the restroom before the tour begins. Stops are not guaranteed but can sometimes be arranged if requested in advance.
Can I bring children?
Some tours are family-friendly, but Haunted History Hamburg is recommended for ages 12+, and History of Hamburg Harems is 18+.
Can I take photos or videos?
Yes — just please do not record the full tour.
Do you use our photos in marketing?
Only with written consent. We do not use identifiable photos of anyone under 18.
What is your refund policy?
You can view our full refund and cancellation policy here: Refund Policy.
Do I need to sign a waiver or photo consent?
Yes. Please review our liability, media, and photo consent form here: Liability, Media, and Photo Consent.
Will we see a ghost?
We can’t guarantee anything… but if something follows you home, that’s between you and your new roommate.
Should I bring garlic?
We aren’t dealing with vampires that we know of, but honestly… you do you.
Do you use ghost-hunting equipment?
No gadgets. Just history, storytelling, and your imagination.
What if I get possessed?
We recommend politely asking the spirit to leave. After that, it’s really out of our hands.
Still here?
Boo.
