All tours are currently led in English, but if your guide is not fluent in German, they will happily answer questions in basic German (and possibly dramatic hand gestures), while they are finishing up their Duolingo tree.
German-language versions are in development though! Stay tuned! -
All of our tours last approximately 2 hours, other than Hamburg History Heroes, which is an hour and a half. These times are dependent on the route, group size, and how many questions you ask.

Each tour begins at a different location in central Hamburg. Please refer to the “Day-Of Tour Instructions” page for your tour.

All bookings are made securely through Ticket Tailor, through the “Tours” page. After payment, you'll receive a confirmation email with your meeting details.

Our tours operate rain or shine! We recommend bringing a raincoat or umbrella. If extreme weather makes the route unsafe, we'll contact you to reschedule or refund.

Wear comfortable shoes and dress for the weather! Hamburg's cobblestones can be tricky in heels. Please remember this is a walking tour! It is also recommended to dress seasonally appropriate and to check the weather prior to coming.

Most of our tours are suitable for families, however we Haunted History Hamburg is only available for children over the age of 12 and History of Hamburg Harems is only for 18+. Hamburg History Heroes is specifically catered at younger audiences. More details can be found on the “Tours” page.

We aim to make every route as accessible as possible. Some old streets may have cobblestones or uneven ground, and some of our tours do include stairs. Please let us know if you use a wheelchair or have mobility needs so we can adapt the tour to your needs.

Absolutely! Just please don’t record the full tour.

Only with written consent! We ask for a photo release at the beginning of the tour for anyone over the age of 18. We do not use identifiable photos of anyone under the age of 18 in our marketing.

Yes! You can cancel your booking up to 72 hours before your tour for a full refund . Please contact us to issue a refund or move your tour.
Refunds are issued to your original payment method and may take up to 10 business days to appear.If you cancel within 72 hours of the tour, the booking is non-refundable , but if something unexpected happens (like illness or travel disruption), please contact us. We review refund requests case by case .
Tours run rain or shine , but if Haunted History Hamburg ever cancels a tour for safety or other unforeseen reasons, you'll receive a full refund or the option to reschedule .

We recommend using the restroom before the tour begins , as most routes do not include scheduled bathroom stops.
If you think you might need a break along the way, please let us know in advance when booking (we ask for accommodations), we can plan a short stop near a public restroom or café when possible. -
We sell Haunted History Hamburg shirts, mugs, and other souvenirs through our online shop.
Each item is made to order and printed and shipped by our production partners — they handle all manufacturing and shipping directly.Due to ongoing tariff instability involving the United States , we recommend:
Customers outside the US avoid ordering products made in the US , and
Customers in the US choose items manufactured within the US whenever possible.
This helps ensure the smoothest delivery experience and avoids unexpected customs or tariff costs.

All merchandise is made to order and produced through our printing and shipping partners , so refunds are only available in limited cases.
We'll happily replace or refund items that arrive damaged, defective, or misprinted. Just contact us with photos within 30 days of delivery .
However, we cannot offer refunds or exchanges for:
Incorrect size or color selections
Change of mind after ordering
Incorrect shipping addresses entered by the buyer
Customs delays or fees
Please double-check your order details and shipping information before checkout to avoid any issues.
